Overview

You can delete units in DoorLoop, although if there have been leases on them and transactions, we don't normally suggest deleting them. Instead, we suggest making those units inactive to preserve any previous records. If you do need to delete a unit, follow the steps below.

Note: Anything you delete can not be recovered.

The Steps

Delete a Unit That Has Never Had a Lease on It

This is the simplest way to delete a unit and doesn't require any special steps. Note, there are several ways you can get to your unit, but we'll show one way here.

  1. To delete a unit, click Rentals on the main menu and then click Properties.

  2. Find the Property that has the Unit you want to delete and click on it.

  3. Click the Units tab to view all the units on the property.

  4. On the Unit you want to delete, click the 3 dots on the right side and click Delete.

Your Unit should now be deleted. This only works if there are no leases attached to the Unit or any financial transactions.

Tip: We suggest that you make the unit inactive instead of deleting the unit unless this was a test unit or you created it by accident.

Note: If there are financial transactions associated with the unit, you will need to delete those first, along with any leases. For instructions on how to do that, read How to Delete a Lease. This will show you how to delete those transactions and the lease. (Note that if the transactions are ePay transactions, you will not be able to delete them or the lease.)
